The view is magnificent. The restaurant is located 3 feet away from the lake. It is at the southern tip of the Seneca Lake. It is a casual place but many of the customers are well dressed. The food is ample and OK.
Beautiful spot right on the lake. We stopped for lunch and got to enjoy some outside dining on the water. I had the fried shrimp, which were giant and delicious. Lots of great food options to choose from. And so lovely to look at the boats and birds and lake.
Would be a zero if I could. Waited 10 minutes for a host to seat us. Waited another 20 minutes for a server. Had to ask for a server and then waited over 45 minutes for food - sandwich and wings. It wasn't busy - plenty of open tables inside. Then had to go up to the host to pay because the server never came back for the check. Food and prices weren't terrible but it's not worth the service if you don't have several hours.
This place's location is fabulous. We went there for their second last day of work before they close for the season. The service was great, but many of the orders on the menu were not there.
I was VERY impressed with this restaurant. I traveled to Watkins Glen for the day from Buffalo, and after a long day of driving and hiking, I wanted to grab dinner someplace where I could sit down, but I'd be able to have a quick meal. This was the perfect place! This restaurant is right on the lake, but it was cooler the day that we went so we sat inside. I ordered the "Cardboard Boat Regatta" burger and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It was exactly what I was hoping for, and service was quick. We were in and out in a half hour, maybe 40 minutes. If I'm back in the area I will definitely come back and I highly recommend eating here!
